It’s that time of year again, when winemakers start getting restless and have a faraway look in their eye… it’s time for the annual James Halliday Wine Companion awards. We haven’t featured that highly in the awards in recent years, but we’ve come up trumps in the the 2020 edition!
We are back being a 5 star winery again, which is awesome. We got 90 points or more for all of our wines, which may not mean much to you, but it does to us :)
Not only that, but Battle of Bosworth was included in Halliday’s list of 10 Dark Horses! This means that although we got 5 stars for our wines back in 2014, we have been awarded 4 1/2 stars and occasionally 4 stars over the years but are now back to being a 5 star winery. Woo hoo.
Our three single vineyard Shiraz, the Bradens, Chanticleer and Ding’s 2016 wines did the heavy lifting (Bradens 96 points, Chanticleer 95 and Ding’s 95 points too!
You can read more about the Battle of Bosworth 2016 single vineyard wines here by clicking on this link
Our young fresh Shiraz, Puritan (unoaked and with no added preservative) got 93 points which is terrific, as did the Bosworth Shiraz 2017 AND 2016.
Well done Joch team in the winery! All wines are on tasting here at cellar door, although the single vineyard wines are available only on the weekend
